Shine is a family-friendly, faith-based youth theatre, founded in 2015. We produce full scale theatre productions, workshops, classes, camps, and other special events. We are located in the heart of Plano, Texas.
DIRECTORS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, MUSIC DIRECTORS

We are seeking applicants with a relevant degree in the performing arts and several years of experience directing/choreographing in children’s theatre, youth theatre, and/or as a middle school or high school private or public school theatre teacher.
Directors, choreographers, and music directors enjoy working with our smart and respectful students. They are eager to learn and have excellent work ethic. Directors need experience/willingness to work in a community theatre setting with limited resources and (dedicated!) volunteer production teams.
STAGE MANAGERS

We are hiring contract/project based stage managers for projects immediately and throughout our 2023 Season.
We require that you have at least 3 years of experience in stage management. Our ideal candidate holds or is completing a degree in Stage Management or Theatre and has experience in stage management for shows featuring young performers.
DESIGNERS, TECHNICIANS, TECHNICAL DIRECTORS

We are always accepting candidates to join our roster of designers and technicians! We are especially looking to connect with technical directors, lighting designers, scenic designers, scenic painters, and props designers.

TEACHING ARTISTS
We are always accepting candidates to join our team of Teaching Artists! We are especially looking to connect with those who are passionate about teaching disciplines relevant to musical theatre performance: acting, theatre jazz, tap, ballet, singing for musical theatre, auditioning for musical theatre, etc.

BOX OFFICE RECEPTIONIST

About the role:
Friendly, detail-oriented, and proactive, the ideal box office receptionist will maintain a smooth “front-of-house” experience at Shine. The person in this role is often the first point of contact for current families and prospective clients and reports to the Director of Operations. This job is part-time (Mondays – Wednesdays 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturdays 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm), with the potential for extra shifts to cover additional events.
Responsibilities:
Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests, families and Shine staff
Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls and emails
Ensure box office and classrooms are tidy and presentable, with all necessary materials (e.g. pens, forms, and brochures)
Learn web-based software systems/databases such as Ovation Ticketing, Mailchimp, and Pike 13
Sell/organize Shine merchandise
Assist with Shine social media presence
Provide basic and accurate information about Shine in person and via phone/email
Receive and distribute daily mail/deliveries
Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk
Order office supplies and keep an inventory of stock
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, copying, and printing
Candidate requirements:
Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or similar role
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Google Suite
Ability to pick up new web-based software systems quickly
Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g., printers, copiers, etc)
Professional attitude and appearance with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
Customer service attitude
Salary/rate:
$12 - $15/hr based on experience
